Mainz 05 have completed the signing of 19-year-old defender Jonathan Meier from Bayern Munich II.
The left-back has signed a three-year deal and arrives at the Bundesliga club for an undisclosed fee.
“Jonathan Meier was able to receive exceptional training during his time in the youth academies at both TSV 1860 München and Bayern München. He is a fast and dynamic player; the epitome of the modern left-back. As well, Jonathan is a good-natured young man with the ambition of developing himself at the top level—that fits perfectly to us,” said Mainz sporting director Rouven Schröder.
