Borussia Mönchengladbach have confirmed the signing of Basel defender Michael Lang. The 27-year-old arrives in Germany for a reported €2.8 million fee.
In his first venture outside of his home country, Lang has penned a four-year deal with Dieter Hecking’s Borussia Mönchengladbach. Hecking & Co. will be keen to push on from last season where they finished 9th in the Bundesliga.
Lang started his career with FC St. Gallen before completing a move to Grasshopper in 2011 where he spent four years with the Swiss side. In 2015 the Switzerland international signed for Basel where he endured three successful seasons with the club, winning two Swiss Super League’s and one Swiss Cup.
He made three outings in Switzerland’s recent World Cup adventure which saw Vladimir Petkovic’s side reach the round-of-16, though two of those three appearances were from the bench.
