There’s no doubt that Julian Weigl is one of Borussia Dortmund’s top prospects, after a successful first season and a call-up to the Germany national team for the European Championship, things will only improve for the young midfielder.
“I could take away many great things from the Euros – even so I would have liked to feature every now and then. I’ve been here for a year now. I have to reaffirm my performances of the first season. I want to continue my development and play the deadly (vertical) pass more often.”
The 20-year-old revealed that he had spoken to Andre Schürrle which with the international team.
“I hardly had to help out. For what it’s worth they approached me. Which is special considering their age. I had a very good understanding with Andre Schürrle at the Euros, and I told him a lot about Borussia Dortmund.”
