Mathys Tel will sign a contract extension at Bayern Munich until 2029.
That’s according to L’Équipe, reported via our colleagues at Get French Football News, who state that despite interest in January, Tel never had any intentions of leaving the Rekordmeister.
Florian Plettenberg further adds that when Manchester United showed interest in the Frenchman, it was unclear as to what role Tel would play at Bayern Munich, more so given the fact that the youth international has played just 863 minutes under Thomas Tuchel this season.
Because of a lack of playing time, Tel’s agent, Gadiri Camara, confirmed that they may have to consider options in the summer, but with Tuchel’s departure at the end of the season now confirmed, the Frenchman’s future is at the Allianz Arena.
