Julian Nagelsmann’s potential Euro 2024 starting 11 revealed

Sport Bild (via @iMiaSanMia)has revealed the potential starting 11 that head coach Julian Nagelsmann will use for Euro 2024 which is 100 days away.

In goal, Nagelsmann has decided to reinstate Manuel Neuer as the country’s number one ahead of Marc-André ter Stegen and has already informed the Barcelona goalkeeper of his decision.

In defence, Jonathan Tah and Antonio Rüdiger are set to be the centre-back partnership. Whilst at full-back, Benjamin Henrichs would have been expected to play right-back but Nagelsmann does not trust Robin Gosens or David Raum at left-back. Henrichs will move to the left-hand side meaning Joshua Kimmich will fill in at right-back.

Toni Kroos is expected to be immediately included in the starting 11 upon his return and will be partnered with a more defensively-minded midfielder in either Bayer Leverkusen’s Robert Andrich or Brighton’s Pascal Groß. Captain Ilkay Gündogan will then be given more freedom in a more attacking role.

On the wings, it will be between Jamal Musiala, Florian Wirtz and Leroy Sané. Sané will be going into the tournament at a disadvantage due to his suspension meaning he will miss the March friendlies. Wirtz and Musiala are also in considerably better form than the winger.

Up front, Niclas Füllkrug is expected to lead the line, but Deniz Undav and Kai Havertz are both expected to be competing with the Borussia Dortmund striker for the starting role.

Julian Nagelsmann has previously stated that previously key players in the national team could miss out this summer.
