‘Jadon Sancho feels at home’ – Borussia Dortmund’s Sebastian Kehl provides update on future of loan duo

Borussia Dortmund are just 90 minutes away from reaching their first ever Champions League final since 2013, but that doesn’t stop the talk about the futures of Ian Maatsen and Jadon Sancho.

The duo, on loan from Chelsea and Manchester United, have shone since their arrivals on loan. When asked for an update on their futures, BVB Sporting Director Sebastian Kehl kept his cards close to his chest.

“We will see [if we can keep them]. They are on loan, both of them but we need to make any decisions, of course they are under contract with their clubs, so it means at a specific point we will get in touch and we will see if it’s possible,” Kehl told TNT Sports.

“I know that the players feel pretty welcome at Dortmund. They feel at home, especially Jadon and he knows our club pretty well and I think it was a good decision to take them in winter. But this is something for the future, let’s keep the focus on today.”

Speaking last month, Maatsen spoke of a ‘special connection’ upon joining Borussia Dortmund, while Sancho is back at the club for a second spell. Since his return, Sancho has scored three and created two in 17 games across all competitions, including a phenomenal display against Paris Saint-Germain in the reverse fixture.
