Can Uzun set to join Eintracht Frankfurt

Bild reports that highly rated Nürnberg midfielder Can Uzun is set to join Eintracht Frankfurt after signing his contract at the club.

The contract is said to be valid for five years (2029) and Frankfurt will pay Nürnberg a fee of around €10m. Uzun had completed his medical at Frankfurt earlier in the month. The 18-year-old had attracted interest from a host of other clubs including Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund as well as Premier League clubs including Brighton

Uzun will follow teammate and friend Nathanial Brown to Frankfurt as the left-back had agreed to join the club in the summer in the January transfer window.

The midfielder is currently experiencing his breakout season at Nürnberg and in 23 games has scored 13 times and assisted once. His performances have attracted the eye of the Turkish FA and Uzun is set to feature at Euro 2024 for the Turkish national team in his native Germany.

Frankfurt have shown that they are one of the best places to develop into a better player. Currently, Hugo Larsson and William Pacho have attracted interest from teams higher up the football food chain, while in the past Jesper Lindstrøm and Randal Kolo Muani to name a few, have used the Deutsche Bank Park as a stepping stone.
