Bayern Munich’s €200 million summer transfer plans have been revealed

As reported by Bild, Bayern Munich’s transfer targets for the upcoming summer window have been revealed.

Due to a disappointing campaign for Der Rekordmeister, it is understood that the squad planning ahead of next season has already commenced. With the aim of toppling Bayer Leverkusen in sight, Bayern have signings planned in the attack, midfield, and defence.

Firstly, Stuttgart’s Chris Führich is on the radar of the record champions, and his acquisition should be fairly straightforward due to a release clause within his contract. According to the report, should Die Roten qualify for the Champions League, then Führich would be allowed to depart for €23.5 million and subsequently offer competition for Leroy Sané.

As well as this, Bayern have several targets as they look to finally sign a number six. The interest in Fulham’s João Palhinha is said to have relaxed as Bayern have identified alternatives to the Portuguese international.

Real Sociedad’s Martín Zubimendi is understood to be Der Rekordmeister’s number one target, with the Spaniard’s release clause set at €60 million. However, more importantly, Zubimendi has played under Xabi Alonso, and with the pair sharing the same advisor, his signing could be key in persuading the Leverkusen head coach to make the move to Bavaria.

Nevertheless, if Bayern are unable to strike a deal with the Spanish side, then they may turn their attention to Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Manu Koné. The Frenchman is highly rated by Max Eberl, who is also responsible for luring the Frenchman to the Bundesliga during his time at Gladbach.

Moving into the defence, and this is where Bayern’s summer spending could begin to take off. Jeremie Frimpong is another player highly regarded by Eberl, but his signing is dependent on whether Alonso will be in charge next season.

The Dutch international is said to have a €40 million release clause in his contract at the BayArena, but it would have to be executed before the European Championships commence. However, due to his vulnerabilities in the defensive third, the record champions will only consider his signing if Alonso or another head coach aims to utilise a back three.

Finally, Bayern will look to bring in another centre-back, and they have not taken their eye off Barcelona’s Ronald Araújo. The 25-year-old was a target for Bayern in the winter, but the Spanish giants refused to negotiate, despite Araújo’s willingness to join.

Regardless, in the summer, it could be a different picture, and Barca would listen to offers around the €100 million mark. This would see Bayern’s spending possibly reach over €200 million, something that will only be possible depending on who departs Bavaria at the end of the campaign.

Nevertheless, Der Rekordmeister have their summer plans in place as they look to reclaim their spot at the summit of German football.
