Bayern Munich to engage in a big upheaval this summer

Bild reports that Bayern Munich will engage in a large upheaval in the summer with several key players to build sold to fund a rebuild.

Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich could be sold, with the former the more likely to leave. Bayern wish to engage in contract talks with Kimmich but they believe there are signs of a lack of commitment from the 29-year-old and with his contract expiring in 2025, this summer could be the last chance to sell him for a large sum. Bayern will keep Konrad Laimer and Aleksander Pavlovic.

Kingsley Coman is toying with the idea of possibly leaving Bayern in the summer to play in either LaLiga or the Premier League. It is said, Bayern would allow the 27-year-old to leave the club for a fee of around €70m. Coman’s compatriot Dayot Upamecano is a potential candidate as he has become unhappy with his role under head coach Thomas Tuchel but he has not expressed a true desire to leave.

While it is widely known that Alphonso Davies is likely to leave Bayern in the summer. There has not been any progress in contract talks with the Canadian and with his deal expiring in 2025, it is likely he will end up at Real Madrid.

If players wish to extend their contract, some may need to take a pay cut. Kimmich is one of those players as is Leroy Sané. However, unlike Kimmich, Sané is open to extending his contract at the club as a new contract is not about money but more about him achieving his sporting goals.
