Alphonso Davies given Bayern Munich ultimatum

Alphonso Davies has entered the final 18 months of his Bayern Munich contract, and the Rekordmeister’s new Director of Sport Max Eberl has given the Canadian an ultimatum in regards to a new contract at the Bundesliga club.

Speaking exclusively to Sport Bild, Eberl said: “Negotiations have been ongoing for some time, but then came to a standstill last summer. We’re dealing with the issue.”

As reported by Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich have offered Davies a contract until 2029 with a reported salary between €11m and €13m gross per year, plus add-ons. With such an offer, Bayern officials have no intention of increasing their latest proposal and if Davies doesn’t sign a new contract, it’s likely that he will leave in the summer.

“We have made Alphonso a very concrete, appreciative offer,” Eberl told Sport Bild. “At some point in your life, you have to say yes or no.”

Despite heightened interest from Real Madrid, Eberl did confirm that the Spanish giants are yet to contact Bayern Munich regarding a transfer but should Davies leave the Allianz Arena, it’s reported that the Rekordmeister will target Milan’s Theo Hernandez as a replacement.

Bayern Munich want clarity on Alphonso Davies

Real Madrid’s long-standing admiration of Alphonso Davies has been well documented, and their efforts to sign the Canadian have increased significantly this season.

With a contract expiring in 2025, Bayern will want clarity on Davies’ future, ideally prior to the summer transfer window opening but with their search for a new head coach ongoing, it’s going to be a busy summer for Bayern.
