Bayer Leverkusen to target Maximilian Beier and Chris Führich in the event of any departures

Bayer Leverkusen have identified Maximilian Beier and Chris Führich as potential summer transfer targets should Adam Hložek or another striker leaves the BayArena.

According to Kicker, unlike last summer when Bayer signed Granit Xhaka, Victor Boniface, Jonas Hofmann, Arthur, Matej Kovar and Alex Grimaldo for a combined €80m, Simon Rolfes and Co. are unlikely to plan a major upheaval, but instead prepare scenarios should there be any potential departures.

Both Beier and Führich have been called up to Julian Nagelsmann’s latest Germany squad for their upcoming friendlies against France and the Netherlands, with the duo nominated for the national team after their exceptional performances this season.

Beier has 17 goal contributions (12 goals and five assists) in 25 Bundesliga games for Hoffenheim this season, while Führich as 14 (seven goals and seven assists) in 26 games for Stuttgart- both players fit Bayer Leverkusen’s recruitment profile.

How much will they cost?

Per Kicker, Bayer Leverkusen would have to pay in excess of €30m to sign Hoffenheim’s Beier. The 21-year-old’s release clause stipulates a staggered transfer fee, dependent on the club making an offer.

As for Führich, the Stuttgart player would have to pay a fee over €20m, but shouldn’t exceed that of Beier.
