Bayern Munich target Galatasaray’s Sacha Boey

As reported by Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich have identified Galatasaray right-back Sacha Boey as a potential target this January.

After the signing of Eric Dier, Der Rekordmeister will turn their attention to acquiring further reinforcement for their defence and, more specifically, for their right-back area. With Noussair Mazraoui departing for the African Cup of Nations while injured, Bayern will be without a right-sided fullback for the foreseeable future.

Therefore, Boey would be able to come straight into the side while also offering competition for Mazraoui once he returns to the squad. With 29 appearances and two goals so far this season, the 23-year-old has impressed for the Turkish champions domestically and on the continental stage, where they could and perhaps should have stolen points away from Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Regardless, it is understood that personal terms should not be an issue between Bayern and Boey, but the record champions could face issues regarding the transfer fee that will be demanded by Galatasaray. Nevertheless, the desired option to fill in at right back is still PSG’s Nordi Mukiele, and a deal for Boey will be dependent on whether Bayern can agree a deal with the Parisians.
