Bayern Munich close to withdrawing from Kieran Trippier deal

Bayern Munich are close to withdrawing from negotiations with Newcastle United regarding the deal for Kieran Trippier, Florian Plettenberg reports.

Bayern have been in talks with the Premier League side for well over a week now, having already agreed personal terms with the English international.

However, Bayern saw a bid rejected yesterday. After internal discussions this morning, Bayern are unwilling to do anything unreasonable and will not pay over €15m-€16m for the full-back.

As of now, the Bundesliga club will not submit a new bid for the player, leaving the ball in Newcastle’s court.

Newcastle United are reported to be holding out for over £12 million, and coaching staff are reluctant to release Trippier this month with limited time to find a suitable replacement.

Having won only once in their last six games, a local derby in the FA Cup against Sunderland, Eddie Howe’s side have slipped to tenth in the Premier League.
