Wolfsburg show interest in FC Twente forward Václav Černý

As reported by Kicker, Wolfsburg have shown an interest in FC Twente forward Václav Černý.

After losing the Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush to Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer, Wolfsburg have been on the hunt for attacking reinforcement. They seem to have found an option in Černý, who has been at Twente since 2020.

The 25-year-old has been a crucial player for Twente as they finished fifth in the Eredivisie, just four points away from European qualification. Wolfsburg themselves missed out on European football by a solitary point as they finished eighth, and the Wolves will look to rebuild in order to go one step further next season.

Černý has been in phenomenal form this campaign firing in 13 goals and collecting 11 assists in 32 Eredivisie appearances. With 24 goal contributions, this has been the most prolific season in Černý’s career.

Wolfsburg will hope that if they are to sign the Czech Republic international that he will be able to continue his fine form next season. Černý is a product of the Ajax academy but he failed to replicate his fine form with the youth side Jong Ajax, before finding his feet at Twente.
