Werder Bremen among clubs interested in Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel

After 397 minutes across 22 Bundesliga games in his maiden season, Kicker report that Bayern Munich are considering allowing Mathys Tel (18) to leave the Rekordmeister on loan this season.

Werder Bremen are among several Bundesliga clubs interested in taking the Frenchman, who scored five league goals last season, on loan. After joining Bayern Munich for €20m as at 17, Tel has averaged a Bundesliga goal every 79.4 minutes but with the club working on a deal to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane the French youth international could find minutes hard to come by, especially with Thomas Müller and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting still in Thomas Tuchel’s plans.

Should Werder Bremen sign Tel, it’s unlikely to affect the future of Niclas Füllkrug. SVW are still planning on heading into the 2023/24 season with Füllkrug, who has two-years remaining on his current deal, but the Germany international is wanted by Bayer Leverkusen after they confirmed that Patrik Schick would miss the start of the season. Bayern Munich are also a club that are monitoring Füllkrug but although Bremen have offered the 30-year-old a contract extension, they’re unlikely to listen to offers below €20m.
