Union Berlin considering loan Jamie Leweling to VfB Stuttgart

Kicker reports that Union Berlin are considering loaning forward Jamie Leweling to VfB Stuttgart for the upcoming season.

Stuttgart are interested in the 22-year-old who only played 16 times for Union in the Bundesliga last season. Leweling is happy at Union and trusts the project at the club, but from a sporting perspective, a move to Stuttgart would help his development.

Leweling joined Union last summer from Greuther Fürth but was never able to assert himself in the starting 11 at Union.

Ahead of the upcoming season, Union already have a wealth of attacking options with Sheraldo Becker, Kevin Behrens, Jordan and new signing Mikkel Kaufmann all at the club. While Union may also complete the signing of Benedict Hollerbach from Wehen Wiesbaden. This would make it very difficult for Leweling to find a place in the Union starting 11 unless there was a change in formation.

While for Stuttgart, the 22-year-old would add greater depth to their attacking options as they replace Tiago Tomas and Tanguy Coulibaly who both left the club in the summer.
