Newcastle United could make offer for Jesper Lindstrøm this week

A report by Bild suggests that there could be an official offer from Newcastle United, Napoli or Milan this week for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Jesper Lindstrøm.

It was reported earlier in the month that both Newcastle and Milan hold concrete interest in signing Lindstrøm, who scored nine and created four in 38 games across all competitions last season. Should the Dane, who has a contract until 2026, leave the club, Eintracht expect to receive a fee around €35m.

Reporting that there “could” be an official offer from one of the aforementioned trio is a little broad, but should Eintracht receive a fee that matches their valuation, then there’s certainly a possibility that Lindstrøm could depart.

Die Adler have already ready rejected an offer of €25m from Leipzig for Lindstrøm, and the Bundesliga side will be keen to keep hold to one of their star performances. Should the 23-year-old leave, a percentage of any fee received for Lindstrøm is expected to go towards Toulouse’s Farès Chaïbi.

The Algerian already has a verbal agreement with SGE, and The Athletic also reported earlier this month that the Ligue 1 side had rejected an offer from an unnamed Bundesliga club, which could well be Eintracht Frankfurt.
