Jamie Leweling to VfB Stuttgart is a done deal

Jamie Leweling will join VfB Stuttgart in the next 48 hours, according to Florian Plettenberg

The German U21 international will depart Union Berlin on a year-long loan with an option to buy. Leweling joined Union last summer from Greuther Fürth but was never able to assert himself in the starting 11 at Union. With Champions League football this season, it’s understandable that the 22-year-old is seeking more playing time elsewhere.

With all documents ready to sign, Leweling will complete his medical and be announced as a Stuttgart player soon.

For Stuttgart, the 22-year-old will add greater depth to their attacking options as they replace Tiago Tomas and Tanguy Coulibaly who both left the club in the summer.

It’s a loan move which could reignite the youngster’s career, who looked promising during his time at Fürth. Should he hit the ground running with the Swabians, the option to buy could be a real scoop for the club.
