Tottenham Hotspur reject Bayern Munich’s second bid for Harry Kane

Tottenham Hotspur have rejected Bayern Munich’s second bid for club captain Harry Kane, according to Dr. Constantin Eckner via The Times

The offer was worth around €80m plus bonuses for the all-time England and Spurs goalscorer. However, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the second bid was rejected. It’s widely reported that Spurs sporting director Daniel Levy wants around €100m for the forward.

The likelihood is that Bayern will come back with an improved third bid if they feel Kane still wants to join the club. The England striker has been in regular contact with Bayern head coach Thomas Tuchel and has given the impression he wishes to join.

One thing we do know is that should Kane, who scored 30 Premier League goals last season, leave Spurs then Bayern would be his preferred destination, with Florian Plettenberg further reporting that the Bundesliga club will remain patient in their pursuit of Kane.

This could be Bayern testing the waters again before submitting a bid closer to the €100m asking price. A top transfer target this summer, the poker is well and truly underway.
