Fiorentina hold talks with Werder Bremen’s Niclas Füllkrug

Sky Germany reports that Fiorentina have held talks with Werder Bremen striker Niclas Füllkrug as the striker considers a move away from the Bundesliga.

There is no agreement between the two parties at the moment, with only initial talks being held. It was also reported in Italy that Fiorentina have bid €15m for the 30-year-old which was rejected by Bremen, but Sky are unable to confirm that.

Atalanta also holds an interest in the Bundesliga’s top goalscorer, and it is expected that Füllkrug will take his time when considering a decision on his future.

Last season was Füllkrug’s breakout season in the Bundesliga. The 30-year-old finished joint top scorer with Christopher Nkunku on 16 goals, while his form earned him a call-up to the Germany squad for the World Cup where he was one of the only players in the squad to stand out as they exited at the group stages for the second World Cup in a row.
