Toni Tapalović gives insight into Bayern Munich dismissal

As reported by Kicker, ex-Bayern Munich goalkeeper coach Toni Tapalović has taken to social media to express his emotions after a surprising dismissal from the club.

Tapalović has been with Bayern Munich for over ten years and has been a consistent figure within the backroom staff as the Bavarians dominated the German game.

However, the 42-year-old was let go earlier this week, which appears to have come out of the blue. Tapalović took to social media to express his thoughts and emotions. In a post on his official Instagram, the goalkeeper coach said wrote:

“After more than a decade, my time at Bayern Munich ends surprisingly today,” he continues: “everyone I have met in recent years and with whom I have worked together in a spirit of trust – great coaches, great players and, above all, great people! I am very grateful for that and will always remember it all.”

The post has raised further suspicion as Tapalović himself describes the sacking as a surprise. What’s more, the post included photos of Tapalović with several ex-Bayern coaches but none with current coach Julian Nagelsmann.

To add more mystery to the story, it was reported in December that Alexander Nübel would not return to Bayern as long as Toni Tapalović remained as goalkeeper coach. The reason for this is the fact that Nübel feels ignored by Tapalović as the coach barely contracted him during his time in Munich and has not contacted him since he moved to Monaco, as reported by Kicker.
