Three Bayern Munich players nominated for the Ballon d’Or

France Football have announced the nominees for the Ballon d’Or with three Bayern Munich players making the cut while three former Bundesliga players have also been included.

Jamal Musiala, Harry Kane and Kim Min-Jae are the three current Bundesliga players nominated for the award. Both Kane and Min-Jae’s nominations have come from their time with their previous clubs, where last season, Kane solidified himself as Tottenham and England’s all-time record goalscorer and Min-Jae played in a key role in Napoli’s first Serie A triumph in over 30 years.

Musiala has also been nominated for the Kopa Trophy and both nominations come from the key role he played in helping Bayern win their 11th Bundesliga title in a row. Without the 20-year-old who scored the late winner against 1.FC Köln to win the league, the outcome of last season could of been very different.

The former Bundesliga players who have been nominated for the award are, Jude Bellingham who was a crucial figure in Borussia Dortmund’s push for the title last season, Joško Gvardiol who was an important figure in Croatia’s run to the World Cup semi-finals as well as in RB Leipzig’s run to a second successive DFB-Pokal, and Randal Kolo Muani who had his breakout season in with Eintracht Frankfurt where he finished with 23 goals and 17 assists in 46 games in his only season in Germany.
