Stuttgart reach agreement with Freiburg’s Woo-Yeong Jeong

Stuttgart have reached an agreement with South Korean attacker Woo-Yeong Jeong, according to a Sky Germany report. VfB must now find an agreement with Freiburg.

Jeong has a contract at Freiburg until 2025 but would like to depart the club after playing just 639 minutes across 26 Bundesliga games last season.

Per the report, Stuttgart would need to sell players before they can sign Jeong, with their maximum fee around €2m, whereas the player’s market value is estimated at €4m. Potential candidates for a departure are Borna Sosa, Konstantinos Mavropanos or Hiroki Ito. Prior to securing their Bundesliga status, Stuttgart confirmed the signing of Serhou Guirassy on a permanent deal but if they receive a suitable offer, he too could be sold.

Freiburg also don’t want to agree to Jeong’s departure until they themselves are active in the market.

Jeong played 20 games under Sebastian Hoeneß during their time together at Bayern Munich II, scoring two and creating 11.
