Simon Terrode one of four players not part of Schalke’s plans

Bild reports that Schalke have a list of players who will not be involved in their plans for the future due to their injury proneness and they will not be offered contract extensions.

The biggest name on the list is Simon Terodde, the record scorer in the 2.Bundesliga has struggled to match his previous form in the league and has recently suffered an ankle injury. It is viewed that the 35-year-old is no longer good enough to lead the line for Schalke as they aim to return to the Bundesliga.

Terodde’s future will be decided at the end of the season, the likely options for the striker are whether he continues his career or he retires but continues at Schalke with a different non-playing role.

While Danny Latza, Dominick Drexler and Cédric Brunner are also not included in Schalke’s plans for the future as all of them have missed large portions of the season through injury.

Schalke are currently 16th in the 2.Bundesliga and need something close to a miracle if they want to even have an outside chance of promotion back to the Bundesliga at the first time of asking.
