Predicted Borussia Dortmund XI vs Werder Bremen

Borussia Dortmund travel to Werder Bremen on Saturday afternoon with just four points separating Die Schwarzgelben and leaders Bayern Munich. Kick-off at the Weserstadion is 15:30 local time.

According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Marius Wolf didn’t travel to Bremen with the squad and so we can expect to see Julian Ryerson return to the starting XI. Another option would be to start Mats Hummels alongside Nico Schlotterbeck and have Niklas Süle shift along to right-back. But expect it to be the former, with Raphaël Guerreiro on the left-side.

In midfield, Emre Can received praise from Edin Terzic following his impressive performances in the last two games. The 29-year-old, as of now, is currently ahead of Salih Özcan. Expect Can to play alongside Jude Bellingham.

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is also expected to keep his place in the squad ahead of Karim Adeyemi, who misses the game against Werder Bremen after accumulating five yellow cards in the Bundesliga. Another option would be Donyell Malen, but the Dutchman has been poor this season, whilst Gio Reyna is likely to be introduced as a super-sub.

Sébastien Haller, who scored his first Bundesliga goal last weekend, is expected to keep his place.
