Predicted RB Leipzig XI vs Union Berlin

RB Leipzig host Union Berlin in the Bundesliga Topspiel on Saturday as both teams look to keep place with leaders Bayern Munich. It’s fourth vs second at the Red Bull Arena, kick-off is at 18:30 local time.

Marco Rose received some good news during the week with Christopher Nkunku returning to individual training duties, but Saturday’s game against Union Berlin comes too early. The Frenchman will be integrated back into the squad next week.

After playing 3-4-3 against FC Köln last weekend, expect Rose to revert back to a 4-2-3-1 which would see Emil Forsberg return to the starting XI – Timo Werner and Dominik Szoboszlai will likely provide the width.

In defence, RB Leipzig will be without Willi Orban after he donated stem cells after the Hungarian found out earlier that he was a match for someone with blood cancer. This would likely mean Lukas Klostermann will partner Joško Gvardiol in central-defence ahead of Janis Blaswich, with Péter Gulácsi out for the season.

Rose will be without Dani Olmo and Abdou Diallo, whilst Konrad Laimer will receive a one-game suspension when he picks up his next yellow card.

Predicted RB Leipzig XI vs Union Berlin

Janis Blaswich – Mohamed Simakan, Lukas Klostermann, Joško Gvardiol, Marcel Halstenberg – Konrad Laimer, Xaver Schlager – Dominik Szoboszlai, Emil Forsberg, Timo Werner – André Silva.
