PLAYER RATINGS | Werder Bremen 0-2 Borussia Dortmund – Jamie Bynoe-Gittens makes makes instant impact

Borussia Dortmund ensured they stayed within three points of Bayern Munich on Saturday afternoon following an impressive 2-0 win against Werder Bremen at the Weserstadion.

Both teams cancelled each other out in what was a drab opening 45 minutes. Youssoufa Moukoko was replaced by Sébastien Haller inside 30 minutes following a challenge from Leonardo Bittencourt. As of yet, it’s unclear as to what the diagnosis is.

BVB needed to showcase urgency in their transitions in the second-half and they did just that. Marco Reus forced Jiri Pavlenka into an excellent save just 23 seconds after the break. But it was Jamie Bynoe-Gittens that opened the scoring, just 60 seconds after replacing Gio Reyna.

Julian Brandt then scored his sixth Bundesliga goal of the season and Dortmund’s second of the afternoon to ensure that they would take three points home with them.
