Both Bild and Sky Germany report that Oliver Glasner will leave Eintracht Frankfurt at the end of the season.
It was reported yesterday that a meeting between Glasner and Frankfurt’s sporting director Markus Krösche would be held to determine whether he would leave the club immediately or at the end of the season. The outcome means Glasner will lead Frankfurt in their DFB Pokal final against RB Leipzig on June 3rd.
The 48-year-old will be able to finish his time at Frankfurt with possibly two trophies having led the club to the Europa League last season.
Frankfurt are already searching for Glasner’s replacement with former Bayern Munich assistant Dino Toppmöller and RB Salzburg manager Matthias Jaissle in the running to replace the 48-year-old.
Glasner took charge of Frankfurt in 2021 replacing Adi Hütter who led the team to the Europa League but ultimately joined Borussia Mönchengladbach. In his first season in charge, he led the club to an unlikely Europa League triumph while in his second year in charge, he helped Frankfurt qualify out of a tough Champions League group.
As of late, Glasner has become unhappy with the depth of the Frankfurt squad and its inability to reach the targets met at the beginning of the season. After a strong start to this season, Frankfurt have not won in the league since February when they beat Werder Bremen 2-0.
