Oliver Glasner offered a contract extension at Eintracht Frankfurt

Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reports, that Oliver Glasner has been offered a contract extension at Eintracht Frankfurt in a u-turn on their original plan.

In January, Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche said that contract talks with Glasner would only happen in the summer and they would focus on football until then, but now Frankfurt have decided otherwise. Glasner’s current contract expires in 2024, with the extension, Glasner will have the opportunity to continue to build on his current progress at Frankfurt.

Glasner joined Frankfurt in 2021 from Wolfsburg and has led Frankfurt to win the Europa League, while this season they are in the quarter-finals of the DFB Pokal, Round of 16 in the Champions League and are currently sixth in the Bundesliga.

The challenge this summer will be how Glasner copes with the departures of key players. Stalwarts of Glasner’s team in Evan Ndicka and Daichi Kamada will leave in the summer while the future of the likes of Jesper Lindstrøm, Dijbril Sow and Randal Kolo Muani are all unknown.
