Official | Sadio Mané leaves Bayern Munich for Al-Nassr

Al-Nassr have this evening announced the signing of Sadio Mané (31) from Bayern Munich for a reported €30m. The Senegalese forward leaves Germany after just one season, signing a four-year contract with the Saudi Arabian club until 2027.

“We want to thank Sadio Mané for the past season,” said Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen. “It was certainly not an easy year for him, he was injured shortly before the World Cup and missed out on participating with Senegal. Due to the long downtime, he wasn’t able to contribute to Bayern Munich as much as we wanted and he himself had hoped. That’s why we decided together that he should start a new chapter in his career.”

Mané switched from Liverpool to Bayern Munich in 2022 for €32m, but was unable to meet the expectations placed on him following the departure of Robert Lewandowski. In 25 Bundesliga games, the Senegal international scored seven and created six. Mané was also in the headlines for the wrong reasons after being involved in a dressing room bust-up with teammate Leroy Sané following Bayern’s 3-0 defeat against Manchester City in April.

He was reportedly isolated from the club and in July, Bayern Munich made it known that Mané wasn’t in the club’s plans, forcing the Senegalese forward to look for a club elsewhere despite his intention to prove himself.

Mané will now be playing alongside Seko Fofana, Alex Telles, Talisca and Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr.
