Official | Dani Olmo signs new RB Leipzig deal until 2027

As of today, RB Leipzig have announced that Dani Olmo has signed a new long-term deal at the club that will see him stay in Saxony until 2027.

The Spanish international has yet to consistently make his mark on the Bundesliga. However, with 21 goals and 29 assists during his 122 appearances with Leipzig, he certainly has proven his undeniable quality.

Olmo would say upon his contract extension: “When I came to RB Leipzig three years ago, it was a huge step for me as a young talent coming into one of Europe’s top leagues. However, everyone made it very easy for me to settle in here, and I was able to hit the ground running.”

He would continue by adding: “RB Leipzig is a fantastic club in an amazing city with wonderful fans, and I’m delighted to have extended my contract. Both myself and the club have big ambitions for the future and want to take the next step together. We’re playing a style of football that suits me perfectly, and we have an incredible squad.”

Olmo would conclude with: “I want to use my abilities to help the team so that we can continue to enjoy success together – ideally by winning the cup on Saturday too!”

RB Leipzig’s sporting director Max Eberl would also add: “We’re really pleased to announce this important news before the Pokal final on Saturday. Dani Olmo is a key player for our team. He provides us with unique qualities. Aside from his technique and danger in front of goal, he’s also a really intelligent footballer and one of the best in the Bundesliga.”

Eberl would finish by saying: “Dani has developed brilliantly at RB Leipzig and we can take the next steps together. The discussions with Dani, his family and his agent were intense but always fair. Dani knows how much he is valued here in Leipzig and knows how ambitious we are too. It’s great that we’ve been able to get his contract extension sorted ahead of the new season.”

RB Leipzig will face Eintracht Frankfurt in the DFB-Pokal final on Saturday, where the side from Saxony will look to repeat their historic cup victory from last year as they saw off Freiburg 4-2 on penalties. Olmo has been a reliable source of goals in the competition with five goals and six assists in his 14 cup appearances, and it would be a spectacular way for the 25-year-old to repay his side.
