Germany announce squad for June friendlies

Germany have announced their squad for the June friendlies against Ukraine (Bremen), Poland (Warsaw) and Colombia (Gelsenkirchen)

Antonito Rüdiger, Julian Brandt, Ilkay Gündogan and Jonas Hofmann all return having missed the March international. While Robin Gosens and Benjamin Henrichs return to the squad after extended absences. Gosens last played for Germany in September of 2022 when he came off the bench in Germany’s 3-3 draw with England. While Henrichs last played feature in Germany’s 1-1 draw with Italy back in 2022. 

The squad features no new names being called up, with only Malick Thiaw, Marius Wolf and Kevin Schade the players first called up in March returning to the squad. 

Notable omissions to the squad include Serge Gnabry and Niklas Süle who were both key in Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund’s pushes for the title in the Bundesliga.
