Marco Reus a doubt for Revierderby with Schalke 04

Marco Reus is a doubt for Borussia Dortmund’s game against Schalke 04 on the weekend, according to Sky Germany

The BVB captain is currently fighting a flu infection and was already partially injured going into their Champions League match against Chelsea on Tuesday.

Dortmund still remain hopeful that Reus will be fit enough to start against Schalke on Saturday but it’s a race against time. Should the 33-year-old miss the game, he will sit in the stands alongside Karim Adeyemi and Julian Brandt who has been ruled out for at least a couple of weeks following a hamstring injury sustained against Chelsea on Tuesday.

It will be another massive blow for BVB who already have a number of first-team regulars missing due to injuries. Currently unbeaten in the Bundesliga in 2023, BVB are keeping the pace at the top with Bayern Munich. Should Dortmund win their next two fixtures against Schalke and FC Koln, it will set up a massive match against Bayern on April 1st.
