Konstantinos Mavropanos has release clause in VfB Stuttgart contract

Kicker reports that VfB Stuttgart defender Konstantinos Mavropanos has a release clause in his contract determined by whether Stuttgart stays in the league or not.

In the case of Stuttgart staying in the Bundesliga, Mavropanos would have a release clause of €30m. However, if VfB do get relegated then the clause will be reduced. The 25-year-old’s contract at Stuttgart expires in 2025 having joined permanently from Arsenal in the summer for €3.20m.

Mavropanos would like to challenge for titles or in Europa and favours a move to the Premier League but the 25-year-old would also stay in the Bundesliga. In the winter, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Inter Milan had shown interest in the 25-year-old. While now, Eintracht Frankfurt, Wolfsburg and Atletico Madrid are all interested in signing Mavropanos.

Currently, Stuttgart sits 15th in the Bundesliga level on points with 16th placed Bochum. Since Sebastian Hoeneß replaced Bruno Labbadia, Stuttgart has performed much better as they fight to stay in the league.
