Bayer Leverkusen to make at least five transfers in the summer

According to Kicker, Bayer Leverkusen are looking at making at least five transfers this summer to reinforce their squad regardless if they qualify for Europe.

Centre-back is one of the areas of interest as Jonathan Tah looks to leave the club in the summer, while manager Xabi Alonso prefers to play three at the back so he would like more depth. Left-back is also likely to be filled with Benfica’s Alejandro Grimaldo an option due to his expiring contract in the summer

While Leverkusen will also look at an additional right-back as Jeremie Frimpong and Timothy Fosu-Mensah are both likely to leave in the summer and a more senior right back to new signing Arthur is needed. Hamari Traore of Rennes is of interest to Leverkusen.

In midfield, Leverkusen will look for a backup to Robert Andrich as recently, Alonso deployed Edmund Tapsoba as the number six in the team despite Kerem Demirbay being fit.

Finally, Leverkusen will also look at signing two additional offensive-minded players as it is also likely that Moussa Diaby and possibly Karim Bellarabi will leave the club in the summer. While Callum Hudson-Odoi will return to Chelsea after a disappointing loan spell in the Bundesliga.
