How Borussia Dortmund could lineup against Augsburg

After Bayern Munich’s defeat against RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga Topspiel on Saturday, Borussia Dortmund are in control of their own destiny, and they won’t have a better opportunity to win the Meisterschale.

One point behind leaders Bayern with a game in hand, if Borussia Dortmund beat Augsburg and Mainz then they will lift their first Bundesliga title since 2012 – but if they are to beat Augsburg, they will have to do so without Jude Bellingham who didn’t travel with the squad due to a knee injury.

Bellingham’s absence means Salih Ozcan is expected to start alongside Emre Can in a double pivot with Julian Brandt supporting Sebastien Haller alongside Donyell Malen and Karim Adeyemi – the quartet are in excellent form.

Defensively, expect Edin Terzic to name the same back four that beat Borussia Monchengladbach 5-2 last weekend with Gregor Kobel keeping his place in goal.

Amongst the substitutes will be 17-year-old Julien Duranville, who is in the matchday squad for the first time this season. Mahmoud Dahoud, Gio Reyna, Marco Reus, Youssoufa Moukoko and Anthony Modeste are also options off the bench.

Should Mats Hummels, Julian Ryerson, Reus or Modeste pick up a yellow card, they will be suspended for the final game of the season against Mainz.

Predicted Borussia Dortmund XI vs Augsburg

Gregor Kobel – Marius Wolf, Niklas Sule, Mats Hummels, Julian Ryerson – Emre Can, Salih Ozcan – Donyell Malen, Julian Brandt, Karim Adeyemi – Sebastien Haller.
