Borussia Mönchengladbach set to sign Bayern Munich II striker Grant-Leon Ranos

The Rheinsiche Post reports that Borussia Mönchengladbach are set to complete the signing of Bayern Munich II striker Grant-Leon Ranos, with the Armenian’s contract expiring in the summer.

The move will likely be announced after Bayern Munich II’s last game of the season on Wednesday. Ranos will initially be used as a backup for Gladbach due to his age and lack of experience. Alassane Pléa and Nathan Ngoumou can fill in at striker ahead of the 19 year old.

Gladbach are still expected to sign a senior striker with Marcus Thuram and Lars Stindl (Karlsruhe) leaving at the end of the season.

Ranos has played 34 times for Bayern II in the Regionalliga Bayern scoring 20 and assisting 12. The 19-year-old has also already had an experience in professional football as he scored twice on his senior Armenia debut in a 2-2 draw with Cyprus in March.

This will be the second youth signing for Gladbach this summer as they have already completed the signing of Lukas Ullrich from Hertha Berlin on a free transfer as well.
