Gregor Kobel remains a doubt ahead of Chelsea clash

Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel remains a doubt ahead of their Champions League match against Chelsea on Tuesday evening, according to SportBild

The Swiss international will travel to London with the team on Monday morning with a final decision being made on the night of the game.

Shortly before BVB’s game against RB Leipzig on Friday evening, the 25-year-old complained about a muscular problem in his thighs whilst warming up. Alexander Meyer was brought into the starting 11 at the last minute.

Meyer will have to travel to London with the mindset that he will start at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday. The 31-year-old made a number of saves in their 2-1 win against RB Leipzig last weekend. He and his teammates will have to be at their best once again as they defend a 1-0 lead going into the second leg.

Chelsea are currently languishing in 10th in the Premier League but have a plethora of talent at their disposal. Borussia Dortmund managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke understands the task ahead and has issued a warning to the club’s players.
