Gil Dias is on the verge of joining VfB Stuttgart from Benfica, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The 26-year-old winger was absent from training over the weekend and is expected in Stuttgart this week. Dias will complete his medical upon arrival and finally put pen to paper. The winger could be available for Stuttgart’s Bundesliga game against Werder Bremen on Sunday.
Since moving to Benifca in 2021, Dias has struggled for regular playing time and mostly featured coming off the bench. So far this season, Dias has only played one league game.
Despite this, the winger comes with plenty of experience having played in the Champions League for Benfica and the Europa League with Olympiacos.
Currently 15th in the table, Stuttgart will be hoping that Dias can hit the ground running and help steer the club away from possible relegation. Only outside the bottom three on goal difference, Stuttgart have registered one win in their last 5 Bundesliga games.
