Galatasaray agree personal terms with RB Leipzig’s Angeliño

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Galatasaray have agreed personal terms with RB Leipzig wing-back Angeliño.

Since Angeliño returned to RB Leipzig from his season-long loan at Hoffenheim, it’s understood that a departure is most likely this summer and the Spaniard is focussing on the Turkish champions. While personal terms have been agreed upon, Galatasaray are still yet to meet Leipzig’s asking price of €20m.

Bild have reported that the Saxons had previously rejected a considerably low bid of €6m for the 26-year-old, and with two years left on Angeliño’s contract, they are in no rush to sell. However, Hoffenheim did have a purchase option of €20m for the wing-back, but it is currently not financially viable for the club to go ahead with the transfer.

Last season, Angeliño featured 35 times for Die Kraichgauer in all competitions where he would score one goal and collect 12 assists in all competitions. Nevertheless, due to his loan, he would miss retaining the DFB-Pokal with Die Roten Bullen as they would prevail in the final against Eintracht Frankfurt.

As for Leipzig, they have already lost multiple key players this summer in the likes of Christopher Nkunku and Dominik Szoboszlai. With Marcel Halstenberg edging closer towards a move to Hannover, the Saxons will be in need of a left-sided wing-back and Angeliño could still prove to be a possible solution if their valuation is not met.
