Five Bundesliga players on 25-man shortlist for the Golden Boy award

Five Bundesliga players are still in the running for the Golden Boy award after the 100 player list was shortened to the most promising 25 names aged under 21 playing in Europe.

Barcelona’s Gavi currently the holder of the award.

Two Bayern Munich players have been nominated which includes Jamal Musiala and Mathys Tel.

RB Leipzig are also representing with two players up for the prize. Xavi Simons and Benjamin Šeško have both been nominated.

Florian Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen completes the list for the nominated Bundesliga players.

Former Borussia Dortmund player Jude Bellingham is favourite to win the award after getting off to a flying start with Real Madrid by scoring ten goals in ten matches.

The Golden Boy winner will be selected by an international jury composed of 50 journalists from all over Europe. Each judge gives ten points to their first pick, seven for second, five for third, three for fourth and one for fifth.

The winner will be presented on 4th December in Turin, Italy.
