Eintracht Frankfurt interested in Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix

SportBild reports that Eintracht Frankfurt are interested in Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix who is an option at centre-back for them in the summer.

The 22-year-old is another option, with Frankfurt also interested in Konstantinos Mavropanos of VfB Stuttgart. However, Lacroix is currently contracted at Wolfsburg until 2025 so will be costly to bring in.

Over the past two seasons, Lacroix has struggled to find the same form he did in his first season in the Bundesliga. This season, he has played 21 times for Wolfsburg but has at times found Micky van de Ven and Sebastiaan Bornauw in front of him.

Frankfurt are likely to experience a complete overhaul of their defence in the summer as Evan Ndicka and Almamy Touré are set to leave on free transfers in the summer, while the future of Tuta is also reportedly in doubt. While Frankfurt have all but confirmed the signing of William Pacho from Royal Antwerp for the summer.

Other players Frankfurt are reportedly interested in are Christoph Baumgartner of Hoffenheim who has a release clause in his contract and Dennis Geiger also of Hoffenheim who will be a free agent in the summer.
