Bayern Munich are interested in signing Mason Mount (24) from Chelsea, according to Sport Bild.
The report cites an article from The Times newspaper in England which reports that new head coach Thomas Tuchel is looking at his former club and the Premier League for players. This also coincides with Chelsea’s danger of breaking financial fair play rules and needing to offload a couple of players in order to balance their finances.
The England international’s contract with Chelsea runs out in 2024. So far, Mount has rejected the opportunity to sign an early extension. Bayern could interpret that as the player being open to options outside of London. With links to Tuchel, it’s conceivable that Mount would be persuaded to join the Bundesliga side for regular playing time.
Under Tuchel at Chelsea, Mount was a regular player and a favourite of his coach. Having already won the Champions League together, the chance to work together again could be there.
