Edin Terzic to remain as Borussia Dortmund coach

After the meeting analysing the first half of the season today, Borussia Dortmund have decided to keep Edin Terzic as their head coach reports Ruhr Nachrichten

How long Terzic will remain as head coach is unknown as other outlets have reported that the players do not support Terzic as a manager and are not a fan of their tactics. Whilst it is also reported that players such as Marco Reus are behind a coup against the manager.

There is a belief among the bosses at Dortmund that Terzic can turn the season around. Last season, Dortmund also found themselves in poor position but were able to mount a title challenge before ultimately coming up short.

Sky Germany reports that Sebastian Kehl will also stay on as sporting director. Both Kehl and Terzic have been at odds when it came to squad building in the future with most of Terzic’s proposals outweighing Kehl’s such as the decision not to sign Edson Álvarez before he moved to West Ham and instead appoint Emre Can as captain whilst also giving him a contract extension.

After the first half of the season, despite qualifying out of a difficult group in the Champions League, Dortmund currently sits fifth in the Bundesliga six points off of fourth place while they were also eliminated from the DFB-Pokal convincgly against VfB Stuttgart.
