Dan-Axel Zagadou has release clause worth €15m in his contract

According to Sky Germany, VfB Stuttgart defender Dan-Axel Zagadou has a release clause in his contract that is valid in the summer.

The clause is said to be worth €15m and he can leave in the summer if a club pays the fee. The 24-year-old’s current contract at the club expires in 2026.

Since moving to Stuttgart just over a year ago, Zagadou has finally found himself first-team football and has been able to play consistently having failed to cement himself during his five-year spell at Borussia Dortmund.

After the departure of Konstantinos Mavropanos in the summer, Zagadou has been a key piece in Stuttgart’s defence as they currently sit third heading into the winter break.

After one good season of football, Zagadou has to be sure not to believe his own hype and jump ship too early at Stuttgart as not only would he potentially miss the opportunity to play Champions League football again, but he may also find himself not as important in his new team.
