Daley Blind: “I’ll give everything for Bayern Munich”

Speaking as a Bayern Munich player, Daley Blind (32) discussed his reasoning behind joining the Rekordmeister on a short-term contract until the end of the season.

“I can hardly wait to play here,” said Blind. “We’ve got the most important part of the season coming up, where it’s about titles and a club like Bayern can win every trophy. The hunger for titles here at the club was key in my decision. I hope I can bring my experience to help the team. I’ll give everything for Bayern Munich.”

Bayern Munich announced the signing of Blind on a six-month contract late on Thursday evening with the Netherlands international flying to Doha with his new teammates for a training camp.

Blind will provide cover at left-back in the absence of Lucas Hernandez, who ruptured an ACL whilst on World Cup duty with France, and will also provide vital experience and leadership as Julian Nagelsmann’s side challenge for another Champions League title.

This transfer comes after Blind terminated his contract at Ajax shortly after Christmas, citing losing his status as an undisputed regular in the starting XI as a reason behind his decision.

Leaders Bayern Munich resume their Bundesliga campaign on January 20 against RB Leipzig.
