Bundesliga Predictions | Round 33

In this weekly feature, hosts of the Gegenpressing podcast Stefan Bienkowski and Manu Veth face off with their predictions for the forthcoming Bundesliga matchday fixtures. It’s three points for a correct score and one point for a correct result. Who will come out on top at the end of the season?

Manu’s Game of the Week: Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig

You could pick a number of games this weekend, but let’s be honest, everyone will tune in to Bayern Munich vs Leipzig and Augsburg vs Dortmund. And as Stefan has picked Augsburg vs Dortmund, I was stuck with the Bayern game. But make no mistake, this will be a fascinating game, the game in fact that will decide this title race. Unlike Dortmund, Leipzig have a tendency to make it a tight game at the Allianz and I expect this to be once again to be a competitive fixture that could see Bayern drop two big points in the title race.

Manu’s Predictions:

  • Freiburg 1-1 Wolfsburg
  • Hoffenheim 1-2 Union Berlin
  • Hertha Berlin 0-2 Bochum
  • Schalke 1-2 Eintracht Frankfurt
  • Werder Bremen 1-3 Köln
  • Bayern Munich 1-1 RB Leipzig
  • Mainz 0-2 Stuttgart
  • Augsburg 1-2 Borussia Dortmund
  • Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 Borussia Mönchengladbach

Stefan’s Game of the Week: Augsburg vs Borussia Dortmund

There’s little doubt that regardless of what happens in the Allianz Arena on Saturday, all eyes in German football will turn their attention to Augsburg on Sunday when Borussia Dortmund come to town hoping to avoid a potential banana skin. Dortmund have been anything but reliable on the road this season and without Jude Bellingham they’ll be up against it, but with Sebastien Haller looking back to his best and the form of players like Donyell Malen and Karim Adeyemi, Dortmund should have enough to claim a vital three points.

Stefan’s Predictions:

  • Freiburg 2-2 Wolfsburg
  • Hertha Berlin 1-1 Bochum
  • Hoffenheim 2-2 Union Berlin
  • Schalke 2-1 Eintracht Frankfurt
  • Werder Bremen 0-2 Koln
  • Bayern Munich 3-1 RB Leipzig
  • Mainz 2-2 Stuttgart
  • Augsburg 1-2 Borussia Dortmund
  • Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 Borussia Mönchengladbach

Scores after MD32: Manu – 187, Stefan – 170.
