Bundesliga Predictions | Round 25

In this weekly feature, hosts of the Gegenpressing podcast Stefan Bienkowski and Manu Veth face off with their predictions for the forthcoming Bundesliga matchday fixtures. It’s three points for a correct score and one point for a correct result. Who will come out on top at the end of the season?

Manu’s Game of the Week: Bayer Leverkusen vs Bayern Munich

My game of the week is Bayer Leverkusen against Bayern Munich. This could be one of those games where Bayern could slip up, which, of course, would set up an intriguing matchup against Dortmund after the international break. Also, I feel that the way Leverkusen play, with their fast players could really hurt Bayern’s aggressive high line. Either way, a must watch game this weekend.

Manu’s Predictions:

  • Borussia Mönchengladbach 1-1 Werder Bremen
  • Hoffenheim 1-1 Hertha Berlin
  • Bochum 0-3 RB Leipzig
  • Augsburg 1-2 Schalke
  • Stuttgart 0-2 Wolfsburg
  • Borussia Dortmund 3-1 Köln
  • Union Berlin 1-1 Eintracht Frankfurt
  • Bayer Leverkusen 2-2 Bayern Munich
  • Mainz 0-2 Freiburg

Stefan’s Game of the Week: Augsburg vs Schalke

My game of the week has to be Augsburg vs Schalke on Saturday. Not only is it a potential six-pointer for both clubs, but it’s also likely to be a fantastic contest between two in-form teams. Augsburg really risk getting dragged into the relegation race and Schalke need to win these clashes against teams in the bottom half of the table to avoid the drop. Meaning this clash could have huge ramifications for whoever loses.

Stefan’s Predictions:

  • Borussia Mönchengladbach 2-1 Werder Bremen
  • Augsburg 1-2 Schalke
  • Bochum 0-2 RB Leipzig
  • Hoffenheim 0-2 Hertha Berlin
  • Stuttgart 1-2 Wolfsburg
  • Dortmund 1-0 Köln
  • Union Berlin 0-0 Eintracht Frankfurt
  • Bayer Leverkusen 1-3 Bayern Munich
  • Mainz 0-2 Freiburg

Scores after MD24: Manu – 152, Stefan – 130.
