Borussia Mönchengladbach may reduce asking price for Yann Sommer

Bild are reporting that Borussia Mönchengladbach may be willing to reduce their asking price for Yann Sommer to around €6m.

Gladbach are currently asking for between €8m-€10m for Sommer which will help fund their replacement. Jonas Omlin would cost between €8m-€10m from Montpellier in France, whilst Yvon Mvogo would cost €6m from Lorient

Bayern Munich have currently offered between €4m-€5m for the Swiss international and are not willing to significantly increase this offer. Sommer has also received a promise from Gladbach that they will continue negotiations with Bayern if they are able to sign the successor of the 34-year-old.

The goalkeeper’s contract expires in June of this year. Sommer also reportedly has a contract extension on the table from Gladbach.

Bayern had set a deadline of January 6th to sign a new goalkeeper. They  begin the year on the 20th January against RB Leipzig, whilst Gladbach restart against Bayer Leverkusen on the 22nd January.
