Borussia Dortmund interested in bringing Trevor Chalobah in on loan

Bild reports that Borussia Dortmund are the next Bundesliga club after Bayern Munich to show interest in signing Chelsea defender Trevor Chalobah.

Dortmund would like additional options in central defence and believe Chalobah can fill that role. Both Sebastian Kehl and Edin Terzic are interested in bringing the 24-year-old to the club in the winter after failing to sign Armel Bella-Kotchap on loan in the summer. Chalobah also brings versatility as he is also able to play as a right-back, which is a position Dortmund lacks quality in, as well as a defensive midfielder.

The aim will be to bring Chalobah to the club on a loan with an option to buy in the summer as he has a contract at Chelsea until 2028. If Chelsea are to sell the defender, it is reported that they hope for around €30m.

In the summer, Bayern had also shown interest as they continued their search for a replacement for Benjamin Pavard however whether the club will try to bring Chalobah to Bavaria in the winter is yet to be seen.
